Galerie Polomarco is a lively exhibition space located in the heart of the Old Town, offering an independent, regularly renewed selection of contemporary art by established and emerging artists alike.

Augustin Rebetez - fluid forces & a few charming cats

Galerie Polomarco presents “fluid forces & a few charming cats”, an artistic creation by Augustin Rebetez, invited by Bianca Maria Guala.

Through various media such as painting, photography, mobiles and carpets, “fluid forces & a few charming cats” explores a diversity of languages, reflecting Rebetez’s creative genius.

This artistic world is teeming with characters and chimeras, evoking a marvellous realm oscillating between dreams and nightmares, lightness and gravity. A narrative and visual construction that transforms space into a world where the boundaries between reality and imagination disappear.

Augustin rebetez

Augustin Rebetez (*1986) creates installations using a wide variety of media to achieve a poetic blend of total art.

Since 2009, he has exhibited his work around the world, including at the Biennale de Sydney, Les Rencontres d’Arles

d’Arles, the SESC in São Paulo, the Daegu Biennale, the Tinguely Museum in Basel and the Independent Animation Biennale in Shenzhen.

After taking part in ReGeneration2, organized by the Musée de l’Elysée in Lausanne, he went on to win a number of prestigious awards, including the Vevey International Photography Prize, the Swiss Art Awards, the Foam Talent and the Latour Foundation Prize.

Most of his books and records are now published by Label Rapace, a publishing structure he co-created with Baby Volcano. But he has also published books with Actes Sud and RVB Books.

He is based in the Swiss Jura, where his large house serves as a studio and open-air artistic residence. In June 2024, he will unveil “La Maison totale”, a sculpture park and private museum project on the outskirts of Neuchâtel. Welcome.
